eBay user Nadlen872012 repeatedly using stolen images on eBay

nadlen872012 of boston, Lincolnshire, United Kingdom, stole our 2000 150th Anniversary of Public Libraries 50 pence coin photograph to use on eBay, without our permission, to try to sell his own. Totally dishonest. Image theft is endemic on eBay, and most sellers appear not to care whether their buyers are deceived.

eBay Copyright Thieves
Many eBay vendors use our coin photographs to sell inferior quality coins on eBay. These eBay members are dishonest and should be avoided.
We believe eBay profits from IP rights infringements (copyright theft), and does so knowingly, only removing infringing items reluctantly, if at all.

What’s Wrong?

We invest a great deal of time, effort, and cost into creating some of the best photographic coin and gold bar images on the internet. We strongly object when lazy and dishonest people decide to use them without a by your leave or thanks, doing so in competition with us. It is always possible, even likely, that sellers who steal photographs do not own a similar item, and have the intention to totally defraud potential buyers.

Copyright theft is dishonest. In this instance the seller has used many images. We recommend you avoid doing business with dishonest dealers. The vendor is not only cheating us by stealing our copyright images, he is fraudulently or ignorantly misleading and deceiving all potential buyers. Gaining pecuniary advantage by deception is the definition of fraud.

Sample Listing:

In 2000, fifty pence coins were issued featuring a special design commemorating the 150th anniversary of British Public Libraries. The year 2000 saw the dawning of a new millennium, and 150 years since the Public Libraries Act received the Royal Assent. The act, without doubt, laid the foundations for today’s network of public libraries and brought knowledge and literature within the reach of every member of society. Inspired by Arnold Bennett’s comment that libraries act as ‘an agency for the radiation oflight,’ sculptor, Mary Milner Dickens chose to show the turning pages of a book above the pediment of a classical library building. Brought up to date with the presence of CDs, the reverse in its entirety reflects the early beginnings and the continuing development of the modern public library service.

Obverse
All 50p coins after 1997 carry the fourth portrait obverse design by Ian Rank-Broadleyhead, inscription ELIZABETH II DG REG F D 2000.

Reverse
The reverse design depicts turning pages of a book above the pediment of a classical library building, its facade covered with CDs to give a modern perspective, and was created by sculptor Mary Milner Dickens.
