Vanguard Capital Group Using Copied 1939 Canada Silver Dollar Images

Copyright Theft

Perhaps we should be flattered by the number of people including dealers who continually infringe our IP (Intellectual Property) rights by using our copyright images, but we do not find it amusing, and will take legal action against any copyright thieves.

Vanguard Capital Group

vanguardcapitalgroup.com is just one of the many coin dealers, bloggers & websites worldwide who commit copyright theft by using our copyright images without our permission. On their website, a page of which we reproduce here, they are clearly using our 1939 Canadian Silver Dollar photograph.

These coins are of random condition, and will be chosen by us from available inventory. Front/Obverse The obverse of an uncrowned George VI was designed by T. H. Paget, and was the normal obverse during George VI’s reign. The abbreviated motto in Latin reads “George VI By The Grace Of God King and Emperor of India.” Rear/Reverse The special reverse, designed by Emanuel Hahn, shows Peace Tower of the Canadian Parliament in Ottawa. The Latin motto above the building reads “By the Faith of the People He Reigns.” Underneath the Parliament Building is “Canada”, “1939” and “1 Dollar.”1939 Canadian Silver Dollars The 1939 Canadian Silver Dollar, made with .600 oz of silver, was a special commemorative issue celebrating the visit of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth to Canada. What’s Wrong?

It is dishonest and unethical to pirate and steal other people’s work by using high quality copyright photographs without the owner’s consent. We can partially understand why they do it; it is quick and easy (but then so is robbing people).
